Right : so I have a Primary Domain controller based on Windows 2003 Server, which also acts as File&Print Server and DNS server. The domain name is (i won’t give the real name, just example) VOO , all users log on to VOO.
The company has a website VOO.RO and email on the VOO.RO domain.
Any computer OUTSIDE the LOCAL/INTERNAL network can access VOO.RO website and email, but when a computer INSIDE the LOCAL network (pc’s logging to VOO domain controller) tries to access the VOO.RO email or website, there is an error “page not found”. Any other domain is accesible, any email account EXCEPT for VOO.RO (so there is nothing wrong with the ISP,etc) . I cannot use the public IP address of the VOO.RO instead of the DNS,as I have multiple domains hosted on one external physical server…
What is wrong? How can i fix the local pc’s to be able to access website and email of VOO? There is something related to the DNS,but what?

1. Can I host multiple sites on a single IP with same port 80? If so, how? My sites will be like
site1.mydomain.com
site2.mydomain.com
etc

2. If my IIS doesn’t belong to a domain (e.g. mydomain), can I enable the Access Authentication feature so that only users from mydomain can access it?

I have other domains within my network (eg. domain2, domain3, etc). When I have “Anonymous access” unchecked, only users from mydomain can acces the site, domain2, domain 3 can’t.

3. I don’t want to make this server to be par of mydomain domain. Do I have to?

Alright, a few days ago for some odd reason every time I attempted to access http://www.timberm-gaming.com I would get “The connection was reset” on Firefox and “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” on IE. At first I thought the website was just down but after speaking with the person who’s in charge of the website, it wasnt down. I asked him to check if my IP was banned and apperently it was not. I checked my host file and it was normal. I then decided to disable my antivirus, firewall and spybot search and destroy. Even after that I still could not access the site. I later decided to check on the other computer connected to my network (trying to rule out the possibility of it just being my PC) and it turned out that in fact the other computer could also not access the site. After I disconnected the router and connected my PC straight to the cable modem, I was able to access the site as if nothing was wrong. I have reset my router multiple times with no avail.

My company just switched dns servers to zoneedit.com. We have two websites that run on the same server (same IP.) We only switched our DNS providers, we did not switch the IP of the server. 1 day after the switch, multiple servers around the world could ping and visit both servers and whois queries returned the new server host info. Now, no one in the world can see ONE of the domain names, but everyone can see the other one! Can anyone tell me why this might be, and maybe how we might go about rectifying the problem?

I’m used to working with linux (apache) servers, but now I own an offsite Windows 2003 server running IIs6. I seen the help files, but they confuse me and I dont really know where to start to be honest. When i go into the IIS administrator, it says everything including ‘webserver’ is running, but i’m unable to access the default web pages with my browser, i tried both my server IP and ‘localhost’. I’ll also have to set up nameservers, php, mysql, etc…but first i wanna see the default web pages load in a browser before i get to far in it. The server came with one IP, i ordered another because NS nameservers require 2. I plan to use this server to host a ‘halo’ game, as well as multiple web site….i considered a hosting business to help pay for the server. Any and all information would be appreciated. If i can’t figure out how to use the IIS, which i rather would, i’ll just install Apache and do it the old fashioned way. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
